History
of ISU
ISU was formed in 1980 by
Rodney Nun. The initial goal was to provide Data Processing support to
Insurance Companies and Insurance Agents. A short time after being formed, a
system was developed to provide group insurance quotes, on PC's, for the Life
and Health Insurance industry. At this system's peak, there were over 3,000
agents using the system, quoting over 200 different companies with multiple
products. Included in the client's utilizing the system were Blue Cross & Blue
Shield of Illinois and Combined Insurance Company.
In 1985 ISU had the opportunity to develop a system to handle the needs of the Georgia Insurers Insolvency Pool. Since 1985, the system has been continuously improved and new features and subsystems added.
Currently, the ISU / Insolvency Processing System handles:
17 states
200 (plus) different insolvencies
10 million (plus) UDS records
2.3 billion (plus) paid claims
14,000 (plus) open claims
1.2 billion (plus) outstanding reserves
Our most recent enhancements include:
UDS Financial Reporting (Version 2)
The ability to transmit UDS claims to a FTP site.
MSP (Medicare Secondary Payer) Subsystem
ISU is committed to
providing software for Guaranty Fund's. ISU provides the most complete
system available today and has full UDS capabilities.
