Organizations that report bodily injury claims filed by Medicare beneficiaries to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Center for Medicare & Medicaid Services are required to comply with Section 111 of the Medicare, Medicaid, and SCHIP Extension Act of 2007 (P.L. 110-173).

Failure to report carries a civil penalty of $1000.00 per day, per beneficiary.
